Flying Flow

Zipolite, Oaxaca, Mexico

1. - 12. March 2027

Join us on this journey and co-create this transformative experience.

This gathering is an opportunity to enrich and exchange knowledge around this art form, and above all, to dance and fly together surrounded by the breathtaking nature of the Oaxacan coast.

This journey invites you to connect deeply with yourself, with nature, and with a vibrant community. Together, we will travel through the pathways of our nervous system and fascia, expanding into the organic forms of the body in motion.

We will dive into the inner universe of this practice, observing its deepest sensations while freeing our natural flow of movement. Here, we express ourselves and explore the endless possibilities of hair suspension, embracing it not just as a physical discipline, but as a creative ritual of true transformation.

The Masterclasses

You'll get to attend our

THEORETICAL SESSIONS

Exploration of the technical details of the hairstyle and the anatomy of the suspension and its relationship with fascia and the nervous system.
Based on Ingrid Esperanza’s 20 years of experience and investigation on this practice.

• BODY AWARENESS

Sessions that work on alignment, mobility and strength from a holistic perspective, inspired by Hatha yoga, Animal flow, Gyrotonic and Fascial maneuvers.

MOVEMENT FLOW

These sessions are an invitation to discover organic movement beyond conventional structures. We will work on fluidity, fully inhabiting the space, and exploring our relationship with the group.

SUSPENDED DIALOGUES

Sessions dedicated to exploring suspension from a somatic perspective; investigating partnering work, counterbalance, slides, and role changes in a safe, collaborative environment. This includes investigating the unique timing and rhythm of bungee cords, creating a fluid dialogue between the body in motion, the apparatus, and the other.

COOLDOWN & RECOVERY

Sessions designed to soothe and regulate the nervous system using conscious breathwork and specialized post-suspension relaxation techniques.

CREATION & COMMUNITY SHARING

During the final days of Flying Flow, we will enter a collaborative creative lab, weaving together the explorations from the previous days into a performance sharing open to the local community.

Your mentors

Ingrid Esperanza

is a Mexican artist, performance creator, and researcher with twenty years of experience in hair suspension. Her approach has evolved from dance and hybrid languages toward a dimension that integrates the symbolic, the somatic, and stage presence.

For the past eight years, she has dedicated herself to expanding this discipline through research and conscious training, developing a methodology that views the technique as a tool for personal exploration. In her practice, self-knowledge and a fine-tuned listening to the body allow for the development of a unique personal language.

As a high-level mentor, she has guided the training processes of artists from world-renowned companies such as Cirque du Soleil, Finzi Pasca, Franco Dragone, and Cirkus Cirkör, while collaborating with various contemporary circus companies across Europe and Mexico. Her teaching promotes a practice oriented toward well-being and physical integrity, placing special emphasis on body preparation and the balance between grounding and suspension to facilitate a safe and conscious evolution.

Silvia Vršková

is a dancer, aerialist, choreographer, and movement educator with nearly three decades of international performance experience.

Born in Slovakia into a family of professional dancers, she began dancing at an early age and has built a career that bridges dance, theatre, and circus arts. Her work has taken her around the world, performing with Cirque du Soleil, 7 Fingers, Cirque Éloize, on Broadway, and in numerous arena productions.

Known for her unique hair-hanging artistry, Silvia combines contemporary dance, folklore, and aerial movement to create performances that are both physically powerful and emotionally driven. Her work focuses on storytelling, connection, and creating meaningful experiences for audiences.

Alongside performing, Silvia works as a choreographer, teacher, and certified Gyrotonic instructor. She is also the founder of Flow Therapy Movement, where she shares her passion for movement, creativity, and personal growth through coaching, workshops, and retreats. Silvia is currently based in Berlin, where she performs in ALIZÉ.

TERESA G. VALENZUELA

is a movement explorer, performance creator, and educator bridging dance, choreography, and human development. With a degree in Dance and a diploma in Social Education, her three-decade career integrates artistic creation with somatic accompaniment in community, educational, and therapeutic environments. Since 1996, she has worked internationally as a performer and scenic creator across Europe and Latin America.

Driven by an autodidactic spirit, she has trained extensively in diverse practices, including body-space dynamics with Jader Tolja, the fascial paradigm with Human Garage, Viewpoints, and Awareness Through the Body (ATB). Her approach focuses on creating spaces for sensitization and play that honor individual self-awareness.

Through her specialized knowledge of the fascial system, she guides body integration from a place of internal space, anatomical safety, and neurophysiological regulation.

Teresa is the founder of Play and Share Spaceness, a practice designed to cultivate attention and creative spontaneity through movement.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

1. Can I attend with my partner/companion if they are not participating in the workshop?

Yes, absolutely. For us, safeguarding the group’s energy is essential, as we will be sharing time, flights, and deep emotions together. In past editions, companions have joined us and naturally become an organic part of our community.

Your partner is welcome to stay with you and share your booked Private Room. While they won’t participate in the suspension training, they are fully invited to join our collective breakfasts and lunches, our recreational activities in nature, and utilize the round-trip airport shuttle to/from Puerto Escondido.

Additional companion fee: 600 € (Includes sharing the private room with the workshop participant, daily breakfasts and lunches, specified collective activities, and airport transfers).

2. Can I participate in Flying Flow if I have zero experience in hair suspension?

Yes. If you are a complete beginner, this is a beautiful opportunity to step into this magical art form. You will be surrounded by high-level practitioners and experienced artists from whom you can learn and draw inspiration.

To ensure a safe, intimate, and focused mentorship, we strictly limit the number of slots available for beginners. We kindly ask you to contact us directly before registering to secure your spot.

3. I’m not sure if my body can handle suspending for so many consecutive days.

Please don’t worry. Flying Flow is designed as a holistic journey, and our activities extend far beyond the moments in the air. Our daily schedule includes somatic movement flow, posture awareness, theoretical discussions, and hair-braiding refinement.

Every participant is completely free to decide their suspension time and take rest whenever needed. Our vision of this practice is vast: even when you are not suspended, you are actively participating as a rigger, an observer, or exploring movement on the ground. We honor and respect each body’s rhythm.

4. Can I join Flying Flow for just a few days?

No, partial attendance is not possible. Flying Flow is an immersive journey carefully designed to build upon itself day by day. To foster mutual trust, prevent the group’s energy from dispersing, and ensure we can safely dive into deep research together, we require all participants to be present for the full duration of the gathering.

5. Can I arrive a few days earlier or stay a few days extra?

Yes, if your schedule allows it, we highly encourage people to stay longer at this wonderful place. Contact us directly so that we can check availability & rates for the extra days.
