Come and celebrate our second Hair Suspension Encounter, this edition in Zipolite, Mexico!
An opportunity to enrich and exchange knowledge about this practice and above all to dance and fly together in a natural environment on the fascinating Oaxacan coast.
In addition to meticulously reviewing the technique of the knot to float, during the meeting we will have access to inspiring masterclasses that will make us move consciously, align and strengthen our body as well as awaken the state of presence on and off stage.
We want to allow new stimuli to emerge for the movement and expression of this wonderful practice.
During the Gathering you will:
• Review the hairdo technique for floating.
• Clarify doubts and deepen the understanding of this discipline.
• The masterclasses (see below)
• Attend the guest talks with the global community.
• Participate in a recreational activity in the nature on our day off.
• Accommodation.
• Vegan/vegetarian lunch.
• Travel from/to Huatulco or Puerto Escondido airport.
This meeting is open to people who practice any discipline related to body awareness and movement (circus artists, acrobats, yogis, dancers, pole dancers, movement explorers, etc.).
For people both with and without previous experience* in hair suspension. As long as they’re willing to deepen their knowledge and above all to share talks, movement, laughter and flights.
*The level of physical exploration with the suspension will depend on the experience and possibilities of each person.
• THEORETICAL SESSIONS Exploration of the technical details of the hairdo for floating based on Ingrid Esperanza’s 18 years of experience and research into postural health.
• CONSCIOUS BODY AWARENESS Sessions that work on alignment, mobility and strength from a holistic perspective, inspired by Hatha yoga, Kalaripayattu and Animal flow, focusing on conscious practice.
• CREATIVE LINES Masterclass that invites to investigate new forms of organic movement, beyond conventional lines, working on fluidity and relationship with space.
• SUSPENDED DIALOGUES Improvisation sessions where suspension is explored in contact with others, investigating counterbalance, slides and role changes in a safe and collaborative space.
• JAM SESSION We celebrate the last day of the Meeting with a JAM Session!
In addition we can enjoy some wonderful sunsets together and the encounter of art and nature.
